THE HAVKNOTZ

Hip Hop trio The Havknotz have released their second EP Rise Above, which follows the 2011 The Music-Life-Plan EP. The first single to be released from the EP is ‘Wild Child’, with both the EP and single available on iTunes now.

THE RIDES

Stephen Stills, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Barry Goldberg form The Rides, a brand new all-star blue-rock group who are set to release their debut album Can’t Get Enough on 23 August on 429 Records through Universal Music Australia. The album will consist of four co-written originals, some covers and previously unrecorded track from Stephen Stills.

SCENIC

Perth band Scenic have announced the release of their debut EP through Future Classic, Shockwaves. The lead single of the same name is out now, but the EP is without a set release date as yet.

BABYSHAMBLES

The third Babyshambles album, Sequel To The Prequel will be released in Australia on Friday 30 August through Parlophone Records. It will be preceded by the first single ‘Nothing Comes to Nothing’ which is due for release on Tuesday 16 July. Babyshambles will be in Australia later this month to perform at Splendour In The Grass and headline side shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth.

BOYS NOIZE

Boys Noize (aka. Alex Ridha) has dropped his brand new EP Go Hard through Inertia. The video for new single ‘Starwin’ has also just been released, check it out below.

AVENGED SEVENFOLD

Hail To The King is the sixth studio album from Avenged Sevenfold and will be released in Australia on August 23. It’s the follow up to 2010’s Nightmare.

LÁRA RÚNARS

Icelandic singer Lára Rúnars has announced the US release of her latest album Moment will be on July 23rd. The album achieved three top singles in Iceland last year when it was released, and is Rúnars’ first album entirely sung in English. Check out the album teaser below.

MICKEY AVALON

Mickey Avalon’s new EP I Get Even will be released on August 6th through Mickey’s own label Rag Top Records. He will tour the album in Australia this coming October.

MOBY

Innocents is the new album from Moby, to be released on September 27. He’s collaborated with a number of musicians on the record, including Wayne Coyne (The Flaming Lips), indie-folk singer Damien Jurado and Mark Lanegan to name a few. The first single from the album is the Cold Specks collaboration, ‘A Case For Shame’.

THE WILD FEATHERS

The Wild Feathers are set to release their self-titled debut album on August 2 via Warner Bros Records.

ATLAS : EMPIRE

Atlas : Empire will release their second EP, Somnus on August 12 via Cold War Legacy Records, with ‘Mitchy Valentino Sleeps with the Fishes’ as the first single. It follows their debut EP To the Astronaut.

AUSTRALIAN COUNTRY-ROCK AND SINGER-SONGWRITERS OF THE ‘70S

Festival Records and Warner Music Australia have announced the upcoming release of BOOGIE! Presents Silver Roads: Australian Country-Rock and Singer-Songwriters of the ‘70s on August 9. It’s a follow up/companion piece, to last year’s Boogie! Australian Blues, R&B and Heavy Rock from the ‘70s. Artists on the album include Russell Morris, Anne Kirkpatrick, Richard Clapton, Dingoes and more. Co-compiled by noted author Clinton Walker and Boogie! compiler Dave Laing, it will also be released alongside two compilations that look at the resurgence of roots-influenced sounds in American rock of the same era – Cosmic Country and Heavy Soul.

BELLS>

Bells> have announced their album Solutions, Silence, or Affirmations as the follow-up to their 2010 There Are Crashes LP and 2011’s Lamé EP. Check out the stream below.

GLEN CAMPBELL

See You There is the new album from Glen Campbell and is set for release on August 23 via Thrillhill Music/Inertia. Campbell has recorded new takes of some of his career’s hits.

FAVORED NATIONS

Brand new trio Favored Nations have announced their debut EP, Blame Game, out 18th July. The lead single of the same name is set for officially release on 8th July, but have an early listen below.

MAYA JANE COLES

Maya Jane Coles’ debut album Comfort is out now on I/Am/Me and Kobalt Label Service. ‘Everything’ is the first single to be taken from the album featuring Karin Park.

OLIVIER LIBAUX

Uncovered QOTSA is a collection of Queens Of The Stone Age covers performed in a range of styles by Olivier Libaux and a cast of female singers. The 12 tracks on the album were arranged and produced by Libaux at his home in Paris, check out the track listing below, with the female singer responsible for the vocals.

ZOLA JESUS

Zola Jesus will release Versions, a collection of reworked originals, this 23rd August through Sacred Bones via Inertia. The album was made with Australian producer J.G. Thirlwell.

KATIE MALCO

Katie Malco is set to release her new EP Tearing Ventricles on September 30. The lead single ‘Ventricle’s is available for free download.

DOT HACKER

Dot Hacker will release their debut album in Australia, Inhibition on Friday 2nd August on Smack Face Records. The band is made up of successful musicians including Josh Klinghoffer of The Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Eric Gardner, the touring incarnations of Gnarls Barkley.

THE BEASTS OF BOURBON

30 Years of Borrowed Time is a new release celebration The Beasts of Bourbon, a 3 disc of live shows from the band. It will be available digitally and in store mid September this year.

FOREVER THE SICKEST KIDS

Forever The Sickest Kids’ third full-length album J.A.C.K. is out now via Fearless Records/Shock.

THE BRAG AND FBI RADIO

The Brag and FBi Radio present Song Reader – Sydney Sessions, a collection of unique recordings of Beck Hansen’s Song Reader, released only as sheet music last year. On December 19 2012, a host of NSW musicians performed their interpretations of the Song Reader album at The Standard, guided by director Brian Campeau. Artists include Jonathan Boulet, Elana Stone, Josh Pyke, Sarah Blasko and more, and on the night raised over $13, 000 for the Sydney Story Factory. Now, Kobalt Label Services, AWAL and FBi Radio have released this collection of studio recordings taken from the rehearsal and collaboration sessions before the show, again raising money for the Sydney Story Factory.

THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT

The Butterfly Effect are releasing the Effected documentary on August 9. It documents the story of the band and the events leading up to lead singer Clint Boge’s departure.

INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS

Nonesuch Records will release the soundtrack to Inside Llewyn Davis on Friday 13 September. The film stars Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, John Goodman and Justin Timberlake, while the soundtrack was produced by T Bone Burnett, film producers Joel and Ethan Coen, and Marcus Mumford as associate producer. SLEEP PARADE

Melbourne’s Sleep Parade have released their second album Inside/Out, following their debut Things Can Always Change.

BEARS WITH GUNS

Only The Quick and The Hungry is the new EP from Bears With Guns and will be available from July 18. The new single ‘Wandering Soldier’ is available now.

PLACEBO

Placebo’s forthcoming record, Loud Like Love is the band’s seventh studio album, and will be released via Caroline/Universal on Friday 13th September. ‘Too Many Friends’ is the first single from the new record, and will be available digitally on Wednesday 10th July. DICHOTOMY

Dichotomy will release their debut album Paradigms this August 14.

SMITH WESTERNS

The new Smith Westerns album Soft Will is out now via Pod/Inertia. The band have also released a new video for the third single from the album, ‘Idol’.

STOLEN VIOLINA

Stolen Violin is Jordan Ireland, who is previously know for his work with The Middle East. As Stolen Violina, he has released his debut album Temperate Touch, Tropical Tears.

CONICS

Conics will officially release their debut EP Faces on July 8, with a launch at Goodgod Small Club in Sydney on Saturday July 20. You can currently stream the EP from the band’s Soundcloud if you just can’t wait!

LUKE KENNEDY, CELIA PAVEY AND DANNY ROSS

Artists from The Voice, Luke Kennedy, Celia Pavey and Danny Ross are each releasing their own ‘journey’ album, documenting their performance on the TV show, through Universal Music. Each album will be released on 12th July, with a single from each artists preceding their albums.

BROTHERTIGER

Future Splendors is the new album from Brothertiger, set for release on September 24. It’s the follow up to his debut Golden Years. The lead single ‘In Mind’ is out now.

NATHAN SEECKTS

Nathan Seeckts’ second EP Oceans of Women and Wine is out now, available digitally and with physical copies available for purchase online.

BARBITURATES

Barbiturates have recently released a mini LP, Shades. The first single ‘Double Happiness’ is available for streaming now.

TONIGHT ALIVE

Sony Music Entertainment Australia have announced that Tonight Alive’s new album The Other Side will be available from September 6. It’s the following up to their debut What Are You So Scared Of?. The first single from the upcoming album, ‘The Ocean’ is now available for free download from their website.

MELODIE FRANCAISE

Mélodie Française is a collection of Aussie artists singing and interpreting classic and contemporary French songs. Artists featured on the album include Megan Washington, Deep Sea Arcade, Gossling, , Lisa Mitchell, Katie Noonan, Husky, Jinja Safari, The Jezabels, Big Scary, Thelma Plum and more. Its due for release on 16th August on Original Matters through Inertia. Here’s a peek of one song.

SCOTT DARLOW

Scott Darlow has announced his new album Darlow will be released on July 12 during NAIDOC week. The new single ‘Solid Rock’ will feature on the album, and Darlow will celebrate the release with 20 shows around Victoria, South Australia, Hong Kong and Hawaii throughout June, July and August.

MOSS OF MOONLIGHT

Moss of Moonlight has released their new album Winterwheel, which follows their debut, Seed. You can check out the song ‘Eole’ from the EP below.

NAMINE

Celestial Love is the debut LP from Naminè. A name your price download of the album is available at http://bossmanrecords.bandcamp.com/album/br010-celestial-love, as well as the first single from the album ‘Celestia’.

GRMLN

GRMLM (aka Yoodoo Park) will release his debut album Empire on Friday 26th July through Stop Start. The single ‘Teenage Rhythm’ is out now.

Misery Signals will release Absent Light on July 26th via UNFD using crowd-funding to get the album out. It’s their first release in five years after a hiatus.

BAPTISM OF UZI

Stray Currents is the new EP from Baptism of Uzi and is out now via Cobra Snake Necktie/Love & Theft record labels. Check out the lead single ‘Stray Current’ below.

CLARK

English electronic artist Clark will release the double disc compilation album Feast/Beast on 13th September on Warp via Intertia. It includes the best of Clark’s remixes.

AGNES OBEL
